One dad, two kids, and way too many spools of pink.
Rose Dudes started out of plain curiosity. We picked up a Bambu Lab P1S just to see what all the fuss was about, and it hasn't stopped running since — a one-off purchase turned into a full family hobby pretty much overnight.
The boys have gotten just as into it as I have. They track down cool designs, they're learning how modeling licenses actually work, and they love tweaking files to make a print their own. Showing off whatever just came off the plate is half the fun — it's rare that a friend visits without asking if they can take one home.
What we work with
Mostly PLA and PETG, in whatever color the piece calls for. Here's the current spool wall:
We've had the most fun experimenting past solid colors — glow-in-the-dark pieces that charge up under any light, rainbow and color-shifting filaments that change as they catch it, and multi-layered effects that give fidgets and dragons a little extra magic.
How a print comes together
Same four steps whether it's a fidget or a full dragon.

Design
We find or model the piece, sized and shaped for the way it'll actually be used.

Slice
The model gets sliced into print instructions — this is where color, strength, and detail get dialed in.

Print
Layer by layer, sometimes for minutes, sometimes for half a day.

Finish
Supports removed, edges cleaned up, moving parts tested until they move right.
